It Could Have Been Me

My heart goes out to all who have been involved directly or indirectly in anything less than 'palatable' or mostly 'unbearable'. This is to you because It Could Have Been Me in Your Shoes.

It could have been me
Dead long ago
Buried and forgotten

It could have been me
Gone with the aluta struggles
Lost or rotten

It could have been me
A boko haram
Brainwashed to think killing is halal

It could have been me
Bombed In the churches
Or as an officer in the trenches

It could have been me
Kidnapped for ransom
Or trafficked for prostitution

It could have been me
Mutilated though handsome
Or raped beyond recognition

It could have been me
Crushed by the industrial machines
Or maimed on the highway

It could have been me
Burnt by the alkenes
Or the parent sorrowing gray

It could have been me
Buried in the ocean
In an unmarked grave

It could have been me
on the ill-fated flight
Burnt beyond recognition

It could have been me
Battling death under a starless night
Or served a deathly recommendation

It could have been me
Responsible for the life-costing management
Insensitive and negligent

It could have been me
Who is the devil on which all blame is often put
Or a job seeker against whom all doors is shut
It could have been me
Who is God to whom most go for succor
And others blame for the error

It could have been me
Shouting regrets from hell
Or smiling mischievously at the unwary

Yeah me, the dead me
Chanting your praise from heaven
Or motivating and urging the weary

What if it is me?
What if this is my writing from hades?
What if you are?
And this is why you were gone for ages?

Even now, it still can be me
Or will it be you?
Either way, it could and can be me

If it is you, it can be me
If it is me, it can be you
Any whichever way, it could and can be you
